Bonnie J. Monte (Director) is a stage director, writer and author. She is also Artistic Director Emerita of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) where she served for 33 years as the company’s Artistic Director from 1990 to 2023. During her tenure, she spearheaded multiple major projects, which resulted in the complete renovation and expansion of the company’s Main Stage, the development of the The Kean Theatre Factory, the Outdoor Stage, a major grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and the list goes on and on. She was named one of the 25 most influential people in the arts in New Jersey – a list that must have included Springsteen, Sinatra, Witney Houston and the entire cast of Goodfellas. She directed over 100 plays at the theatre, which was name d the 2014 “Company of the Year” by the Wall Street Journal.
