The Need
For centuries, the tools used in Acting Shakespeare have been handed down from actor to actor in a professional/apprentice relationship. But not every actor interested in Shakespeare has had the opportunity to work with experienced actors. The State of Shakespeare seeks to provide actors, educators and theater lovers a chance to learn from professionals working in the business. We do so using in-depth discussions with professionals about their craft in approaching specific Shakespeare characters. Listeners get to hear a speech performed and then discussed by the actor and we provide detailed scansion pages of Shakespeare monologues.
