Astor Place Riots, to simplify a somewhat deep seated and complex social and economic issues, were between supporters of American actor Edwin Forest and English actors William Charles Mccready.
Concerning not only who was the better Shakespearean actor but between class difference. The more working class supporting Forest and the upper class supporting the work of William Charles Mccready.
