308That Cassio loves her, I do well believe ’t.
309. That she loves him, ’tis apt and of great credit.
310. The Moor, howbeit that I endure him not,
311. Is of a constant, loving, noble nature,
312. And I dare think he’ll prove to Desdemona
313. A most dear husband. Now, I do love her too,
314. Not out of absolute lust (though peradventure
315. I stand accountant for as great a sin)
316. But partly led to diet my revenge
317. For that I do suspect the lusty Moor
318. Hath leaped into my seat—the thought whereof
319. Doth, like a poisonous mineral, gnaw my inwards,
320. And nothing can or shall content my soul
321. Till I am evened with him, wife for wife,
322. Or, failing so, yet that I put the Moor
323. At least into a jealousy so strong
324. That judgment cannot cure. Which thing to do,
325. If this poor trash of Venice, whom I trace
326. For his quick hunting, stand the putting on,
327. I’ll have our Michael Cassio on the hip,
328. Abuse him to the Moor in the rank garb
329. (For I fear Cassio with my nightcap too),
330. Make the Moor thank me, love me, and reward me
331. For making him egregiously an ass
332. And practicing upon his peace and quiet
333. Even to madness. ’Tis here, but yet confused.
334. Knavery’s plain face is never seen till used.
