In this new, fresh, active environment storytelling becomes paramount and the result is a kinetic experience of shared empathy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bedlam was founded in 2012 with a commitment to the immediacy of the relationship between the actor and the audience.&nbsp; Bedlam creates works of theatre that reinvigorate traditional forms in a flexible, raw space, collapsing aesthetic distance and bringing its viewers into direct contact with the dangers and delicacies of life. Bedlam\u2019s shows have been noted as Ben Brantley\u2019s \u201cCritics\u2019 Picks\u201d for <em>The New York Times<\/em> six times, noted on <em>The New York Times<\/em> an<em>d New York Magazine<\/em>\u2019s \u201cTop Ten Best Show Lists\u201d five times, and on those of <em>The Wall Street Journal <\/em>and <em>Time Magazine<\/em>. The Wall Street Journal also noted Artistic Director, Eric Tucker as \u201cDirector of the Year\u201d in 2014 and 2021 and called him \u201cAmerica\u2019s Best Classical Director\u201d.&nbsp; Bedlam has won three Irne Awards, two Off Broadway Alliance Awards, and an Obie Grant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bedlam has also been nominated for two Lucille Lortel awards, two Drama League awards, and seventeen Elliot Norton awards, winning four awards to date.
