He attended graduate school at New York University.\u00a0 He acted and taught at the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) and Juliiard where his students included Patti LuPone and Kevin Kline.\u00a0 He is an Emeritus Professor of English at California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
