Milan has performed with nationally recognized regional theaters, including the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Hartford Stage, Pasadena Playhouse, Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts\/Theatrefest, and a ten-year stint with the Will Geer\u2019s Theatricum Botanicum, where he earned a Los Angeles Dramalogue Critics Award for his portrayal of Richard III.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the author of a bold new book, The Persuasive Actor: Rhetorical Power on the Contemporary Stage<\/em>, which explores the lost art of rhetoric and how its magical craft can empower today\u2019s performer in speaking verbally adventurous texts, from Shakespeare to Hip Hop Theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milan is a Professor of Performance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
