My name is Jackson Dean. I am a rising senior at Palm Valley School, in Rancho Mirage, California (think, Palm Springs). My life is full of singing, acting, dancing, and musical theatre as a whole. I became interested in acting and theatre in middle school, 6th grade to be exact, when I was offered a small role in the middle school production. From that point on, I was hooked on all things theatre, especially Broadway-esque theatre. Looking more on the classical side, I did not truly embrace and fall in love with Shakespeare until high school. In the 9th grade, my English class read Romeo and Juliet and I was, again, hooked. All things Shakespeare captured my attention and I was truly awestruck by the creativity of each of Shakespeare\u2019s plays. Another factor that really got me hooked on Shakespeare was taking part in the National Shakespeare Monologue Competition<\/a>,  run by the English Speaking Union<\/a>. Competing every year gave me an opportunity to dive deep and explore an array of monologues and characters. Although I will always have that classical side in me as an actor, my real dream and aspiration is to be in a musical on Broadway or any stage that would have me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
