Michael Urie<\/b> has established a highly successful stage and screen career. He is currently starring in Hamlet at Shakespeare Theatre Company<\/a>. Previously he starred in Red Bull Theater<\/a>\u2019s acclaimed production of <\/span>The Government Inspector <\/span><\/i>and will headline this fall\u2019s revival of Harvey Fierstein\u2019s <\/span>Torch Song <\/span><\/i>at Second Stage Theater<\/a>. He originated the role of Alex More in Jonathan Tolins\u2019 <\/span>Buyer & Cellar<\/span><\/i>, appearing Off-Broadway, on tour, in London and for the PBS series Theater Close-Up<\/a>.For this performance he received the Drama Desk Award, Clarence Derwent Award, the Lucille Lortel Award, LA Drama Critics Award and nominations for the Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Awards.  His New York Theatre credits include <\/span>How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying<\/span><\/i> (Broadway), <\/span>Shows for Days <\/span><\/i>(LCT<\/a>), <\/span>Homos, Or Everyone in America<\/span><\/i> (Obie Award), <\/span>The Cherry Orchard<\/span><\/i> (CSC<\/a>), <\/span>Angels in America <\/span><\/i>(Signature<\/a>), The Temperamentals<\/i> (Lucille Lortel<\/a>, Drama Desk and Theatre World awards, Drama League nomination), The Revenger\u2019s Tragedy<\/i> (Red Bull<\/a>), Another Vermeer<\/i> (HB Playwrights<\/a>).  Regionally, Urie has worked for Two River<\/a>, The Old Globe<\/a>, Vineyard Playhouse<\/a>, South Coast Rep<\/a>, Seattle Rep<\/a>, Folger Shakespeare<\/a>, Barrington Stage<\/a>, Hyde Park theater<\/a> in Austin and The Blank<\/a> (L.A.).  <\/span>He has appeared in numerous films including <\/span>He\u2019s Way More Famous than You<\/span><\/i> (also directed), <\/span>Thank You for Judging <\/span><\/i>(co-director\/exec. producer), <\/span>Beverly Hills Chihuahua<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>WTC View<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Decoy Bride<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Petunia<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Such Good People<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Hyperglot<\/span><\/i> (director), and<\/span> Grantham & Rose<\/span><\/i> (exec. producer). <\/span>TV credits include Gavin Sinclair on <\/span>Modern Family,<\/span><\/i> Younger<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Workaholics, The Good Wife<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Hot in Cleveland<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Partners<\/span><\/i> and Marc St. James on<\/span> Ugly Betty<\/span><\/i>.
