She has just completed a successful run with &#8216;The Turn of the Screw&#8217; in <a href=\"http:\/\/smockalley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Smock Alley Theatre<\/a>, November 2014. She was awarded The Mace Actor of the Year Award in 2011 for her portrayal of Runt in &#8216;Disco Pigs&#8217; and won many acting awards at her time spent with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kilmeendramagroup.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kilmeen Drama Group<\/a>. (Pegeen- Playboy of the Western World and Betty-A Whistle in the Dark). Irene&#8217;s performance as Maria in &#8216;Stars in the Morning Sky&#8217; in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belgrade.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Belgrade Theatre<\/a>, directed by Hamish Glen, was her UK debut in 2012. More recently she played a lead role in &#8216;Desolate Heaven&#8217; at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.everymantheatre.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Everyman Theatre<\/a>, acting alongside well known Irish actress, Mary McEvoy. \u00a0She is currently touring with Ian Wild&#8217;s one woman show &#8216;Mrs Shakespeare&#8217; which performed off Broadway this October at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cherrylanetheatre.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Cherry\u00a0Lane Theatre<\/a>, NYC and Stratford Upon Avon at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebearpit.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Bear Pit Theatre<\/a> -February 2015.<br \/>\nOTHER THEATRE CREDITS INCLUDE: Lovers, The Collector, Pied a Terre, Lipstick, The Maids, Hollander (Cork Midsummer Festival 2009), Our Day Out, A Woman Alone, Much Ado about Nothing, Shakers Restirred and The Glass Menagerie.<br \/>\nFILM &amp; TV CREDITS INCLUDE: Game of Thrones (HBO) , Reign (CBS), Fair City (RTE) Outside the Box (Irene wrote and played the lead in this short that won &#8216;Best Irish Short Film&#8217; Fastnet Film Festival, 2013) Hatch, Spellbound, The Trouble with Aoibhe, The Gingerbread Men and Dead Dogs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to listen to her interview. \u00a0 IRENE KELLEHER trained with Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, Massachusetts and Drama&amp; Theatre Studies University County Cork where she received a first class honours degree and Masters, specialising in Advance Performance Practice.
