As an actor, Blake has appeared in productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theatres throughout the country as well as in TV and film. As a teacher, Blake has held faculty positions at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yale.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yale University<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roosevelt.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roosevelt University<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amda.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMDA<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/National-Theatre-Workshop-of-The-Handicapped\/159517077412877\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Theatre Workshop for the Handicapped<\/a>. Currently, he is on faculty at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southern Methodist University<\/a> and is the co-director of the Yale University\u2019s Summer conservatory. He holds an MFA from the <a href=\"http:\/\/drama.yale.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yale School of Drama<\/a>. His musical <em>The Boss in the Satin Kimono<\/em> premiered at the 2008 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fringenyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York International Fringe Festival<\/a> to great acclaim and some vilification. Other New York productions of his work include: <em>The Lady in Red<\/em> \u2013 EndTime Productions, <em>Mother Courage of Westchester, Mariposa <\/em>\u2013 NYTE, <em>Barry Horowitz: A Jewish Fantasia on Catholic Themes<\/em> and <em>The Wasp Woman<\/em> \u2013 a musical written with Phillip Chernyak. He is a member of the esteemed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bmi.com\/genres\/detail\/533378\">BMI\/Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Program<\/a>, is the recipient of the Harrington Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing as well as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dramatistsguild.com\/\">Dramatist Guild<\/a> Intensive grant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to listen to his interview.
