Patrena Murray: About the Artist

Patrena Murray was most recently seen as Paulina in The Public Theater’s Mobile Unit Production of The Winter’s Tale.  She has also appeared as Snout/The Wall in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Delacorte Theater. Other credits include: Ham in “The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World” a.k.a “The Negro Book of the Dead.” The Uncle in Suzan-Lori Parks’ “Venus” (Signature Theatre Company) and Odd-see dog in Ms. Parks’ “Father Comes Home from the Wars parts 1,2 & 3 (A.R.T & Mark Taper Forum.) Patrena has also appeared on the television shows “The Sopranos” and “Law & Order.” She has a B.F.A. from SUNY Purchase. Ms. Murray was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica and immigrated with her family to the United States in 1983. She and her family have been in Brooklyn, New York, ever since.
